Preparation For Treatment

Please eat a full breakfast or lunch, as applicable, prior to your procedure.

Ibuprofen (also sold as Advil or Motrin) helps reduce inflammation when taken pre-operatively. We recommend 2 regular-strength tablets (400mg) of either medication 1hour before endodontic therapy.

Continue all medications for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid problems and all other conditions, as recommended by your physician.

If you have been advised by your physician or dentist to use antibiotic premedication because of mitral valve prolapse (MVP), hip, knee, cardiac or other prosthesis, please make sure you are on the appropriate antibiotic on the day of your appointment.

Please continue with any prescription medications, unless instructed otherwise by Dr. Ashoo. Notify the office of any problems that may arise from medications being taken.

Remember… If you have any questions or concerns regarding your treatment, please do not hesitate to contact our office!!!

After root canal therapy has been completed you likely have had a temporary restoration placed in your tooth. You must return to your regular dentist to have the temporary filling replaced.
